I was born to Syrian parents in Denmark, which is where I also grew up. I hold both a BA and MA in International Business Communication (English) from the University of Southern Denmark. I am well-travelled due to having lived abroad in numerous countries with my family over the past 10 years, and I speak English, Danish, Norwegian, and Arabic.
I became a certified cosmetologist in 2003 because I have always had a passion for beauty and helping others with their skin care needs. I consider myself lucky to be able to work in a profession that brings me so much pleasure.
However, in recent years I hit a turning point. I felt that age was suddenly starting to creep up on me, with small but noticeable changes to my skin. It made me reflect on the effects that my busy lifestyle was actually having on me little by little each day, even though I thought that I was doing enough to care for myself and my skin. I started to look for natural alternatives to commercial beauty products, because I’m a true believer in the power of our hands and that we should appreciate our own unique beauty, made up of both features and ‘flaws’.
Then I encountered face yoga and started to practise it. From the very start, I knew that this was undoubtedly the way forward for me and my self-care. Despite my expertise with cosmetology, face yoga was the “missing piece” in my daily skin care routines. I dove straight into training and became a certified practitioner and teacher of face yoga in 2020.
Developing a practise of skin care “from the inside” has proven to be the best compliment to my cosmetological expertise of treating skin “on the outside”. I have learned how profound an effect our lifestyle choices have on our skin, and why I need to look after the “whole” of me, and not just parts.
This is now my mission. As a professional face yoga teacher and lifestyle coach, I am committed to helping others to discover their best selves and their own amazing journeys, both inside and out.
